Faced with a small craft warning, we opted to stay in camp and have Giovannina’s parents meet us at Possession Point (or pretty close to it). We were to meet with them for a two night Airbnb stay anyway, so it didn’t affect their plans. It did mean that we got a bit of a lift in our journey and we never paddled the stretch between Possession Point and Langley, but we can live with that.
Our stay in Langley was sublime. Gio’s parents were delightful company and we stayed at a very comfortable little cottage with lake access. Most importantly we got showers and were able to eat lots of greasy food (burgers) and drink beer. And we watched TV on a screen that covered an entire wall. We felt like royalty
We were able to explore Langley a bit. It’s the definition of a picturesque northwest town. Perched on a bluff with quaint little shops oozing organic ingredients from every surface, we felt very much on vacation. And there were a ton of bunny rabbits. Must’ve encountered a dozen in a two block walk around town. Quite charming.
